Roy Everett Butler is a poet and painter whose work holds a lifetime of flight, art, memory, and reflection.
Roy Everett Butler is a retired Pan American World Airways System Director of Flight Training and former United States Marine Corps Major. He began writing poetry in his nineties, bringing a long life of discipline, curiosity, and creative work to the page.
His poems turn toward aging, friendship, loss, music, childhood, flight, and the daily rhythms of a peaceful home shared with family and rescue cats Holly, Sasha, Tasha, and Tiger.
Long before his poetry collections, Roy was also a visual artist, with a solo exhibition in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1968 and a final one-man show at The Blue House Gallery in Sarasota, Florida, in 2008.
