A New Poem

The City Beyond the Moons

By Roy Everett Butler

A violet city beneath twin moons in a prismatic painting

Beneath twin moons of violet hue,
a city hums where dreams come true.
Its towers tilt like thoughts mid-flight,
each window catching shards of night.

Bridges arc through crystal air,
to streets that shimmer, everywhere
the stones remember whispered spells,
and fountains sing where starlight dwells.

No map can hold its shifting form,
each dawn reborn, each dusk transformed.
The domes breathe light, the arches gleam,
as if the world itself could dream.

And those who wander, hearts unbound,
find time dissolves without a sound,
for magic here is not a word,
but every pulse the city heard.
